What a day!!!

Nothing like the holiday to get our tails in gear....Gene and I have brushed poly acrylic (not urethane...as he's told me over and over and over last two days) pert near everything that has a wooden surface...okay I'm exaggerating.  We have brushed the posts (cut from our pasture) that haven't been done since we built the house

Oh and I forgot the table Gene finished (stumps been cut ohhhh 3 years or so)

Giddy Up!

Gene and Mac had a BEAUTIFUL, sunny afternoon ride...

First One

Tah dahhhhh the first deer of the season for our freezer...We were so blessed to have Michael and Mac home.  Can't you tell they are twins? Well they are, in their hearts and mine! The two young men were on the same soccer team when they were 8 years old and they've been best buds ever since.  Mac is in the National Guard (hence that stern expression) and he might fight for our country but I'd fight for him, any day!  He's one of my sons.  Michael was just ornary (because he had to get up before noon).

Baby Knight's 0 Bday Party

It's not a "shower"...it DID rain with gifts from some wonderful people in a beautiful house with lovely hostesses...Baby Knight's ZERO Birthday Party...yep...he even got his first rabbits...Oh! And, did ya' notice the plate of awesome food?

Fall has arrived....

The view outside our den this beautiful day.  If you don't believe in God then were does all this beauty...the breeze (cough and dust combine thrown all over our abode) the sun the birds....Fall sounds...God in all His glory...

And so I walk to mailbox...awwwwwwwww sweet baby Knight....awwwwww

Me thinks he'll be crazy bout his papaw Gene :-) awwwww city boys love the country...just ask Knight's daddy, Daniel :-)

Bah Humbug....except I love CHRISTmas

I love CHRISTmas because I love the story of Christ's birth and getting together with family...the holiday is truly special...BUT...I do feel bahhhhhhhh humbug.....and it's only October 1.  My mammaw, who is 92, is in the hospital...so we get to spend the night together every night...we just wanna go home and sleep in our beds....

The office is still so glum and sad without Jason.  I don't know if I'm coming to going...can't seem to get caught up on anything...muddling through as best I can in new job position that has bout zillion "jobs"...oh the love of stress....

Haven't slept in my bed with my handsome hubby since last Tuesday due to Jackson and Meridian last Wed, Thur, and Friday and then mammaw being put in hospital with "ticker" issues...  she's a tough ole poot...and my hubby is a good man for being so understanding, and the PCSD teachers are being so patient with me for being slow and clueless...

This too shall pass...

Daniel and Morgan are expecting ! and none of us can come up with a name for my grandson...Daniel is hung up on "Knight" and insists that baby boy not have to be called by his middle name....seems I've been a terrible mom to name him Kenneth Daniel and use "Daniel"...go figure.

Jason

Last Wednesday, I lost a cousin, a friend, a coworker.  Jason has gone to "streets of gold" with his wife and children left to grieve the loss and relish the memories.  He was one, if not the, best people I've ever known in my life.  Like Keith said at the funeral, he lived, loved, and did more for God and others, in his 36 years of life than most will do in 90 years.

Jason, we love you and I miss you but I'm so happy for you. Please give my dad and Rhonda a big hug n kiss for me when you see 'em and I'll help Zack with the yard birds.
